This is more of a line about the album's formation with 1501 Certified Entertainment stating that his Something for the Hotties record does not qualify.
Megan has already claimed that it meets the stipulations of an album.
In a document seen by Radio 1 Newsbeat, 1501 seeks an injunction in his favor and damages for claims that Megan has "repeatedly breached his contracts".
The 2021 release debuted at number three on the US Billboard Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart in its first week of release.
In the original case filed by Megan's attorneys, it states that an album record "explicitly meets the definition" – stating a length of 45 minutes or more is the only requirement in Megan's contract to define that a What is album?
But in its counter-argument against Megan, 1501 says that the record was not "original material" because it "contained freestyle and archival material available on YouTube" – and equals only 29 minutes of new recordings.
The label claims that Megan's agreement stated that in order to receive credit for an album under the contract "she must include at least 12 new master recordings of her studio performances of previously unpublished musical compositions".
Megan has responded to the countersuit against her on Twitter.
