Jumbo Package: Can Nick Saban find his next group of starting wide receivers for Alabama this spring?

Jermaine Burton is coming in to take up some of the slack, but the rest of the receiving room is wide open, they just have to catch the passes

The actual news surrounding collegiate sports is a little light right now, and as your resident Seattle Seahawks fan, you have to forgive me for the lack of inspired commentary today because I'm still on the inside even after the release of Future Hall. Broken Fame trade linebackers Bobby Wagner and QB Russell Wilson.

With the Commodores' victory over the Bulldogs, Alabama doesn't even get to seek revenge against the terrible UGA team that defeated them earlier this season. The game will air this evening on the SEC network, and we'll have you covered all day here on RBR.

In recruiting news, Alabama picks up commitment from Hewitt-Trussville to 2022 walk-on QB Cade Ott Carruth:

Tide always needs a guy or two like this on the roster to help with practice, and it's always good to have a local kid. He was originally committed to the state of Mississippi as the preferred walk-on.

I find it amusing that Florida "powerhouse" schools are now considered underdog programs to land top recruits in their own state, and I'm not sure that even a single five-star prospect would actually prompt a change of guard.

It's behind a paywall, so I haven't included any of Charlie Potter's comments, but the wide receiver is far and away the most attractive position for a Tide this offseason. After Alabama lost the national championship due to a dramatic drop in WR play following injuries to John Macchie and Jameson Williams, all three starting spots are 100% open for whoever makes a move and performs this off-season.

I think transfer Jermaine Burton is very much a lock, as he brings SEC beginner experience, size, athleticism and talent.

Ja'Corri Brooks is also the most likely candidate for another starter, as he was the only youngster last year free from public criticism of Saban's practice habits.

that past? Treshon Holden has a good friend reputation with Bryce Young, but fails to really show much in the way of shine.

My money is on freshman Aaron Anderson for what it's worth. Dude has a bus.

Most clutch? We'll see, because Bryce still has a great job when it comes to tackling Blitz. But those last moments against Auburn were a thing of beauty. If you need something funny to watch in these off-season melancholy, here's a replay of the whole thing:

Talk about clutch, safety how Jordan Battle shrugs off a clear catch on the sidelines to chase Auburn's star RB Tank Bigsby and pulls him out of bounds, followed by Byron Young to Auburn OL Destroyed alone so that the ball can be brought back for the tide?
