Fans Fans Flock to Franklin Street Bar and Restaurants for Sweet Sixteen Games

CHAPELL HILL, NC (WTVD) -- Joy Misita clings to her Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. It's a privilege for UNC-Chapel Hill Jr.

"Every time I eat it, there's something good to do for the rest of the night," he said.

Joy was watching the UNC-UCLA game at Four Corners on Franklin Street in Chapel Hill on Friday night.

He and his friends were lucky to snag a table. The line to get in was long, hours before the tip closed.

"It's lightning," said Joy. "We're all waiting to be activated."

Others began their Sweet Sixteen nights at the top of the hill, including members of UNC's field hockey team.

"It's my first year here, and when they beat Duke at the end of the regular season, we had to race Franklin, so it was super special and now we have the tournament," said Alli Mithan.

He was in Chapel Hill for the last North Carolina Championship and regrets not going to Franklin Street.

He and his wife moved from New Jersey to Chapel Hill in 2016.

"I've always been a fan of North Carolina, too," Bryant said. "It was great to be able to see them down here, to be happy for them and to be here when they won."

The bar and restaurant said the tournament meant huge business.

All are looking forward to another Duke-UNC matchup in the Final Four in New Orleans.
