Adipurush: Not Kovid or clash with Laal Singh Chaddha, but is this the reason for the delay of Prabhas' film?

The makers of Aadipurush are not releasing the film in August as the VFX of the film is not ready.

Saif Ali Khan, Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer Aadipurush is one of the much awaited films which was scheduled to release in August this year. However, the South superstar took to Instagram to announce the new release date with a stunning new poster of the film.

After several delays, Om Raut's period drama is finally releasing on January 12, 2023. Though it's a long wait for the fans, we are quite thrilled to get the release date. Now the real reason behind the postponement of the film has been revealed by the latest report.

As per the ETimes report, the makers of Aadipurush are not releasing the film in August as the VFX of the film is not ready. The report quoted a source as saying, “VFX takes time. Manufacturers, T-Series has an excellent product in hand. They don't want to rush it."

According to the report, it would be worth waiting to see Saif Ali Khan, Prabhas and Kriti Sanon starrer film in theatres. With the extensive VFX work on the film, it has further piqued the curiosity among the fans. The Telugu superstar on Tuesday announced the new release date of the film, which read, "On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, release date announced. January 12, 2023."

The poster read Aadipurush is meant to celebrate "the victory of good over evil". He also confirmed that the film would have a "worldwide theatrical release in 3D". Watch it below:

For the unversed, Om Raut's mythological period drama Prabhas played the role of Adipurush or Lord Rama, while Saif Ali Khan played the antagonist Lankesh. Kriti Sanon will play the role of Sita and Sunny Singh will play the role of Laxman. The shooting of the film started in February 2021.
