LAKE MILLS - Junior guard Marin Risen knocked out four 3-pointers, scoring a game-high 21 points as third-seeded Lakeside Lutheran Girls Basketball defeated 11th-seeded East Troy 62-41 in the WIAA Division 3 regional semifinals at the LLHS secured the top position. on Friday.
Senior forward Lily Schuetz added 13 points, eight rebounds and three steals for Lakeside (16-9). Sophomore forward Ava Stein contributed eight points and eight boards, and junior forward Jenna Shadowski made seven points, five rebounds and three steals as the Warriors had a 41-18 advantage over Glass.
Risen scored back-to-back 3 runs to give the Warriors a 17-12 lead, with 6 minutes, 30 seconds remaining in the first half. Risen hit 3:3 with 3:30 to push the lead to nine and bury the second beyond the arc, with 25 seconds left in the first half, expanding the margin to 33-18.
Shadowski started the second half with an old-fashioned 3 point game. A minute later, Schuetz jumped off a passing alley for a steal and went coast to coast for a score. The Trojans (5-21) used an 8–1 run to reach within a dozen, but their losses quickly increased after two free throws by senior guard Carly Paske and a putback by Reisen, who scored nine rebounds and two Add blocks.
"East Troy was helping hard on Jenna and Lily when they made it to the lane," said lakeside Lutheran girls' basketball coach Andy Asmus. "Marin sat on the periphery with both hands ready and held her in an inside-out look in rhythm. Normally, Marin is able to reach the rim, but tonight she's attached to the outside.
"East Troy switched in the middle and the man zone looks what we expected. We played a good defensive half of basketball in the first half and snatched the lane, got the defensive rebound and then there were chances for transition."
Amya Place scored 12 of her team's high 16 points after halftime for East Troy.
Lakeside travels to play second seed Greendale Martin Luther in the regional finals at 7 p.m. Saturday. The Spartans beat seventh seed St Thomas More 67-32 on Friday.

LAKE MILLS - Junior center Bella Pitta scored all of her 14 points before halftime and the top-seeded Lake Mills girls' basketball team defeated eighth-seeded Big Foot 59-16 in the WIAA Division 3 regional semifinals at LMHS on Friday.
The L-Cats (19-5) led the Chiefs with four field goals, six second-half points, and 30 starts in the second period.
"We were excellent defensively and turned them with our press 14 times in the first half," said Lake Mills Girls basketball coach Brandon Siska.
"Our halfcourt defense was excellent and we did a good job of helping out, boxed out well and executed the game plan of what we were trying to take away well. We ended up with a good 3 though. Didn't shoot well, but we crashed boards and scored putbacks.. We were also under 10 turnovers. When we're playing with energy and executing, we can choke on defense "
Sophomore wing Taylor Wolin added 13 points and sophomore point guard Emily Wolin added nine points for Lake Mills.
The L-Cats hosted the fourth-seeded Waukesha Catholic Memorial, who defeated fifth-seeded Jefferson 52-43 in the regional final at 7 p.m. Friday. In the first meeting of the season, the Crusaders won 67–62 at home on November 23.

CAMBRIDGE - Fifth-seeded New Glarus defeated fourth-seeded Cambridge girls' basketball team 56-43 in the WIAA Division 4 regional semifinals at CHS on Friday.
The Glarner Knights took a 19-13 lead at the break. The Blue Jays (16–9) lost all three meetings with the New Glarus this season, but won the Capital South title for the first time in a decade.
The New Glarus will face top seed Broadhead in the regional finals on Saturday.

The Panthers finished the season 13–12 on aggregate and finished second in the Trailways-South Conference with a 10–2 league mark.
