Today, Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost will wake up in a Montclair bedroom on national television.
The celebrity husband-and-wife duo came to Eagle Rock Way to film an Amazon Alexa ad that was shown during Super Bowl LVI. On occasion, they let their imaginations lead as they wonder what it would be like if Alexa could read their mind (spoiler alert: it would be rough on the power couple).
"It was fun watching ScarJo and Colin Jost wake up in my old bedroom, but it looks the same as the one we lived there," said Eleanor Walter, who sold the house in 2018.
Walter said the rest of the house has been updated under the new owners. (Those new owners may have worked out a deal to use their space for advertising; Walter and her husband, Todd, were not involved. Montclair Local has not yet been able to connect with the new owners for comment.)
In the ad, Johansson and Jost are impressed when Jost tells their smart speaker that it's game day—so Alexa turns on the TV, closes the blinds and starts chilling some roses. Things get a little less comfortable when Alexa orders some mouthwash for Johansson as she exhales morning breath toward Jost in bed, and a blender to Jost chattering about getting a spray tan before the funeral. begins to destroy.
Overall, the pair agree that it's best that their smart home isn't psychic.
