Team Fluff wins the 2022 Puppy Bowl

Team Fluff won the 18th Puppy Bowl on Sunday with a final score of 73-69 after a three-hour face-off against Team Ruff.

Puppy Bowl XVIII kicked off Sunday morning with a feature from "From Puppy Bowl with Love," which recaps adorable moments from the previous bowl. Lifestyle icon Martha Stewart coached last year's champion Team Ruff, while hip-hop artist Snoop Dogg coached Team Fluff.

Celebrities hosted the television program with their own puppy companions donning their team jerseys.

Other special guests on the television program included Sesame Street's Elmo and his dogs, Tango and First Lady Jill Biden, and new First Family puppy, Commander.

According to Discovery, this year's bowl features more than 100 adoptable puppy players from 67 shelters and rescued players from 33 states.

Kirby, a Labrador retriever and service dog in-training, was named Team Fluff's "Most Valuable Player" when he helped his team win the Lombarki Trophy.

The call-to-adoption event once again featured stories of shelters and good and lots and lots of puppies being rescued up for adoption.

The show, which was broadcast on Animal Planet and streamed on Discovery+, featured nine special needs dogs during the game, including Benny, a wheelchair-bound Labradoodle; Moby, a French Bulldog with a cleft palate; and Rocket, a deaf Chihuahua/Dachshund.

More information about the outfits and pups displayed can be found on the Animal Planet website.

Correction: A previous version of this story misspelled the final score for the Puppy Bowl. It was 73-69.
