Euphoria Season Three Will (Hopefully) Show Rue's Full Recovery

Meanwhile, we have to talk about the rest of Euphoria High: Fez, Ashtray, Jules, and Elliot.

Has your heart rate dropped after watching the Season Two finale of Euphoria? Sure? Didn't think so. When we left Euphoria Season One, there was no doubt that the focus was only on Rue and Rue. This time in the final episode of season two? Almost every character's arc comes crashing down at some point in the end, flickering as the euphoria needles drop when you least expect it. These include, but are not limited to: Nate throwing his pop in jail, Cassie becoming the greatest performance artist East Highland High School has ever seen, and the showdown in the fezzco-ashtray apartment we'll never talk about again. Wouldn't want to We will rest soon.

When will Euphoria return?

In early February, Variety reported that HBO renewed Euphoria for a third season. Unfortunately, this news didn't come with an ETA on the release date. That means we could either be in for more Bridge episodes — a la Rue and Ali's hour-long dinner conversation — or a third season next year.

Either way, HBO's executive vice president of programming Francesca Orci wrote in Euphoria's season renewal announcement: "Sam, Zendaya, and the entire cast and crew of Euphoria have taken Season 2 to extraordinary heights, challenging narrative convention and form. "Keeping up our hearts. We couldn't be more honored to be working with this talented, wildly talented team or more excited to continue our journey with them in Season 3."

What's in Store for Euphoria High in Season Three?

Let's start with one of the best developments of the finale: Recovery in Rs. Over the course of the episode, we learn that Rue not only maintains her sobriety, but actually thinks she should do with it. (Inspired by Lexi's drama, of course.) In that light, you can't blame us for hoping that season three shows us the next phase of Rue's recovery—which hopefully includes a full apology for Jules. .

What about the rest of the Euphoria crew? A few days before the season finale of Euphoria, Elliot himself—or Dominic Faik, as he's known in real life—appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. When Fallon asked Fick whether or not Elliot would return to Euphoria next season, he said he would "absolutely" return. So we can safely rule out Elliot being transferred out of Euphoria High after Season Two's dramatization, especially because his apology song for Rue sounded genuine. We hope that Rue and Elliot find a way to overcome each other's evils and become friends again.

Now, we've only kept at it because we can't stand to see the pain again: Fezco and Ashtray. all this. In the finale, we see the Feds show their full might to the FaZe-Ash bunker, prompting the little boy to open fire in full force defending his brother. In the end, the police take FaZe away, certainly headed for a prison sentence. As far as sweet ashtrays go, who didn't make it to the finale? When we interviewed Javan Walton, who played Ashtray in Euphoria, he was hopeful that Ashtray would both survive the fight (of course) and that FaZe would break out of prison—which would lead the brothers to find each other in season three.

"With Fez in prison, I think he's going to get out no matter what," Walton told us. "I don't know how, but I think he'll definitely be able to get out anyway. And Ash is definitely going to find a way for that because that's the person he cares about the most." This is what I would do if Ash and Faiz want to be together again. People love the pairing of Ash and Faiz. The Face Train!"

Sam Levinson, if you're reading this - do you really want to disappoint Javan Walton? All we need is an ashtray and a fez to reconnect with a song like Bill Withers' "Lean On Me" humming in the background. Just a humble suggestion.
