Dr. Corey Seymour announced as next Clear Creek Amana superintendent

TIFFIN, Iowa (KWWL) - Clear Creek Amana Community School District has ended its 10-month search for a new superintendent.

The district announced Monday that Dr. Cory Seymour of Texas will become the new superintendent on July 1. Seymour is currently the Executive Director of Leadership for the Actors County Independent School District in West Texas; It has an enrollment of more than 32,000 students. Clear Creek Amana has an enrollment of approximately 2,900 students.

Seymour earned a bachelor's degree from Rice University in Houston, a master's degree from Texas Southern University, and then a doctorate in organizational psychology from Walden University, an online university located in Minneapolis.

Seymour has previously served as a teacher, athletic coach, assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent, superintendent and more in various districts across the country.

“Dr. Seymour has a career spanning 29 years in education and leadership development. Her most recent roles of Executive Director of Leadership, Assistant Superintendent, and Superintendent place her uniquely positioned for the CCACSD. She is a charismatic leader who excels at all levels. But we bring passion to student success and betterment. We look forward to the impact it will have on our school district and community," new CCA school board president Cara Prickett said in a statement on the district's website.

“There is no better place to enter a new era of education and emerging educational trends, while inspiring universal leaders and acknowledging the needs of the community,” Dr. Seymour said in the press release.

Clear Creek Amana has a bond issue coming up next Tuesday, where voters will decide whether to approve a $65 million bond for various school improvements and a new elementary school.
