PanARMENIAN.Net - Eduard Aghazayan, an MP from Armenia's ruling Civil Contract Party, has expressed concern about Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Addressing the OCSE Parliamentary Assembly on Friday, 25 February, the MP said that he is "deeply concerned by the current events in Ukraine because every war is a tragedy involving many lives, casualties and other losses."
Aghajanyaan then weighed in on the war of aggression launched by Azerbaijan on September 27, 2020, in the midst of a global pandemic, which he said had tragic consequences and severely undermined the credibility of the OSCE.
“More than a year after the signing of a tripartite ceasefire statement on November 9, 2020, the prospects for establishing peace in the region are still elusive,” said the lawmaker, referring to the torture of Armenian prisoners of war by Azerbaijan, Baku. Citing continued encroachment on Armenian soil, and Azerbaijan's failure to honor the tripartite agreements signed with Russia.
"Unlike Azerbaijan, Armenia has proved on several occasions that it is ready to take serious steps towards lasting peace in the region."
