Walgreens ‘Pleased to Partner' With Biden Administration in Distributing Free N95 Masks

The Chicago-based company announced that it will be making masks of varying sizes available to the public for free in the near future.

"We are pleased to partner with the administration to make N95 masks available in a variety of sizes for free at select Walgreens locations nationwide," a company spokesperson said. "We know that masks are an effective way to prevent the spread of COVID-19."

According to a White House statement, the masks will come from the government's Strategic National Stockpile, which has more than 750 million highly protective masks available.

According to Walgreens officials, the masks are expected to be available for pickup at pharmacies and community health centers nationwide, and the final details are still being worked out.

"We are currently finalizing the operational details of this program and will provide information once available," the company said.

According to officials, the shipping of the masks will start this week and the distribution will start later this month. Each person will be able to get up to three masks.

The CDC recommended that residents wear properly fitted N95 and KN95 masks, as those coverings were shown to be more effective in protecting individuals from the omicron version of the virus.
