Today’s ‘Wordle’ Word Of The Day Answer #217: Saturday, January 22nd

Weekend Wordlers, hope your Saturday is off to a great start! We've been solving these word puzzles together all week and it's time for another.

The viral word game is so fun and easy to play, although some of these words can be challenging!

If you're new to Wordle, be sure to check out my explainer piece here or watch the video below for an overview.

Rule

After you visit the Wordle webpage—it's not available on the App Store or Google Play and doesn't contain any ads or micro-transactions or monetization of any kind—you'll find six rows with five empty boxes in each row.

This is where you make your guesses. You will need to guess five-letter words and you will receive six guesses for correcting the word of the day.

The correct letter in the wrong place appears yellow and the correct letter in the right place appears green. Incorrect letters are grayed out.

I screwed it up a bit, though in the end it didn't really matter. After guessing 'Cream' and graying out 'A', I still foolishly guessed 'Teach'.

That got me the 'C' in the right place, at least, leading to the guesswork 'twice,' which, ironically, was a word I considered opening up. From here I stunned for a while, wondering which word could possibly end with 'CE' but also contain 'WI' somewhere.

In the end, I thought of 'Vince' and was fairly certain it must be the right word. This, thankfully, and I no longer had to dwell on my bad second guess!
