Strong Winds Cause Power Outages Across SoCal, Over 70,000 Residents Impacted

More than 70,000 Southern California residents were affected by strong winds that hit the region on Saturday, as multiple power outages were reported in several counties.

Service interruptions affected Los Angeles, Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside and Ventura counties, with Santa Ana winds raging across the Southland, causing people across the region to go without a trace at some point on Saturday. Electricity goes away.

As of 9:45 a.m., 83 outages affected 26,793 residents in Los Angeles County.

Other Southern California Edison customers have also experienced service interruptions, including 13,122 in San Bernardino County, 42 in Riverside County, 7 in Ventura County, and 361 in Orange County.

In the event of a power outage in your community, Southern California Edison offers a Customer Resilience Kit, which includes: PSPS information, light snacks, water, small flexible devices and personal protective equipment.

The Southern California Edison website indicates that in the coming hours, approximately 80,000 residents could be affected by 1,755 planned outages across the state.
