Sydney FC coach Steve Corrica has been left contemplating his team's disappointing A-League Men's 1-1 draw with the Brisbane Roars in which the hosts squandered several chances to win.
After the Sky Blues secured a place in the FFA Cup semi-finals after beating Roar earlier in the week, they were unable to engineer a repeat performance at the Kogarah Oval on Saturday night.
Elvis Kamsoba's searing run set Anthony Cesares for the Sydney opener, before Nikola Milunik equalized in the 41st minute for Warren Moon.
Sydney had late chances to snatch a winner but Brisbane worked strong to secure their second point of the campaign.
"I'm a little disappointed that we didn't get all three points tonight," Corica said.
"We really dominated that first half and we got the target and then we made a muddy drop at the end of the first half.
"We had three face-offs with the keeper in the second half, Patrick Wood had one and Harry (Van der Saag) had two to steal the game for us, but we couldn't take him."
Sydney took the lead when Kamsoba occupied his own half and burst at the halfway point.
The forward avoided some covering challenges as he swung an inch-perfect ball through a sea of bodies towards Caesares, who ended medically in the 34th minute.
But soon Sydney began to dominate as they struggled to clear a routine ball from their own penalty area.
A spirited Juan Lescano helped push the ball into the path of Milunik who was able to take a shot away.
Andrew Redmayne crossed, but was unable to get the ball around the post as Milesnick's effort went past the keeper's hand into the net.
After the break Brisbane sought to rely on counter-attack and set-pieces to jeopardize Sydney's goal and it was clear they were struggling having not played in a month.
Korika deployed new recruit Mustafa Amini who looked alive in his 15-minute cameo.
Van der Saag, Wood and Max Burgess had chances for the Sydney equalizer but none of them were successful.
"The landscape has changed a bit for us and I told the group it was about performance," Moon said.
“We have had two good performances away from home in tough conditions.
"We were good on Wednesday (in the cup) and I thought we were good tonight and that (a draw) was just the reward for getting something out of the game."
