The 2021 Miss Universe made its debut on 10 December last. The 70th edition of the popular show will be hosted at the Universe Arena in Israel, with around 5,000 people. 80 contestants from all over the world will compete for the crown. This year's show will be hosted by Steve Harvey, and will feature a judging panel from veteran Miss Universe contestants and newcomers alike.
This year's selection committee is made up of several celebrities and experts, most notably Adamari López and Adriana Lima. Other judges include Rena Soffer, Marion Rivera, Lori Harvey and more
As usual at these types of events, there will be a variety of artists, including JoJo and Noah Kirel, Israeli pop singers.
Israel is hosting the event for the first time this year. "We look forward to deepening our commitment to building meaningful cultural dialogue, connection and understanding through this partnership," said Miss Universe President Paula Shugart.
According to the press release, this year's events will focus on global warming. The organization explained to Insider, "The purpose of the broadcast will be to raise awareness among the millions of viewers with the hope of inspiring action in the community of contestants."
