Dr. Rajendra Prasad was born on 3 December 1884 in a village in Saran district (now Siwan) of Bihar. His father Mahadev Sahai was a scholar of Sanskrit and Persian. His mother Kamleshwari Devi was a devout (believers in religion) woman. Rajendra Prasad was the youngest among his five siblings. Being the youngest, Rajendra Babu got a lot of love and affection in his childhood. He was used to getting up very early in the morning since childhood. He had a lot of love for studies since childhood. He always focused on his studies.

He was 5 years old when he started taking Persian classes from a Maulvi Sahib. After this Rajendra Prasad came to Chapra for elementary education. At the age of just 13, she got married in the middle of her studies. His wife was from Rajvanshi Devi. Even after marriage, he completed his further studies from TK Ghosh Academy in Patna.
At the age of 18, Rajendra Prasad gave the entrance exam of Kolkata University. He came first in that examination. After this, in 1902, he took admission in the famous Presidency College of Kolkata. In 1915, Rajendra Prasad completed his Law Masters in Law with a gold medal. And later obtained his doctorate in law from Allahabad University.
Apart from his autobiography, Dr. Rajendra Prasad also wrote many books. Among these are "Bapu in the footsteps of Bapu", "Satyagraha at Champaran", "India Divided", "Indian culture, "Gandhi ji's gift" and "Khadi's economics" etc. Rajendra Prasad became the first President of the country, Along with this, he also served as the Minister of Agriculture and Food in the first cabinet of India.
It is worth mentioning that Dr. Rajendra Prasad is the only leader, who was the President of the country twice. His profession was advocacy, but he contributed fully to politics. He was one of the main leaders of the Congress in the freedom struggle. Rajendra Prasad was such a leader who thought of others before himself. He accepted his future to work among the poor and oppressed farmers. He was elected President in the last meeting of the Constituent Assembly in 1950 and was the first President of the country from 26 January 1950 to 13 May 1962. After becoming the President, Rajendra Prasad did many social works.
After being removed from the post of President in 1962, he was awarded the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian honor by the Government of India. To spend the last few moments of his life, he chose Sadaqat Ashram near Patna. It was here that he died on 28 February 1963.
