Tonight, Indiana Fever did something no WNBA franchise has ever done: make four top-10 picks.
The Fever picked numbers 2, 4, 6 and 10 in the first round of Monday's WNBA Draft. Interim Fever's general manager Lin Dun said the team's needs are 'shiny', so the inclusion of talent is welcome.
We'll have more coverage later tonight on indystar.com, including comments from Dunn and the draftees.
Fever adds Ali Patberg, Destani Henderson, Ameshia Williams-Holiday in second, third round
In the latter round, Fever made some great picks. In the second round, Indiana took on Destiny Henderson of South Carolina, who starred in the national championship game versus Yukon. In the third round, Fever picked Emeshia Williams-Holiday from Jackson State, making her the first player in 19 years to drop out of a historically black college or university. Then, Fever took Ali Patberg, IU star point guard and 2015 IndyStar Miss Basketball out of Columbus North, who spent seven years in college.
Williams-Holiday averaged 19.2 points and 11.4 rebounds in 2021-22. Jackson State went 48-3 in SWAC play during its three years. He helped Jackson State earn the number 14 seed in the NCAA Tournament, the program's highest seed since the tournament expanded to the number of teams it had ever hosted.

Fever reaches number 10 in a row with Queen Egbo
NaLyssa Smith's Baylor teammates will join Indiana in the fourth first round of their WNBA record with a fever tabbed agbo.
Houston's 6-3 center averaged 11.0 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game.
With pick number 6, Fever takes Lexi Hull out of Stanford
A 6-1 guard and Pac-12 All-Defensive Team selection, Hull continues Lynn Dunn's defensive overhaul. Hull helped lead the Cardinals to the 2021 national championship and has an identical twin sister, Lacy, who has been her basketball teammate in high school and college.
Shooting 40.8% from the field and 39.3% from behind the arc, he averaged 12.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game.
Fever takes over Louisville's Emily Angstler with No. 4 pick
Lin Dun loves defense. She'll love Emily Angstler.
Fever was back on the clock at No. 4 after Baylor took Nalissa Smith to No. 2, after Washington selected Ole Miss forward Shakira Austin.
In his lone season at Louisville, Angstler helped lead the Cardinals to the program's fourth Final Four. He averaged 11.9 PPG and 9.4 RPG.
Fever took Baylor's NaLyssa Smith to No. 2
With plenty of guards on the roster, Fever went with the top-rated post player of the draft.
Smith started for three of his four seasons with the Bears, increasing his scoring averages (8.4, 14.3, 18.0 and 22.1) in each season. He won a national title during his freshman season and increased his rebounding numbers each year (5.1, 8.0, 8.9, 11.5). He was a first team All-American for his final two seasons with the Bears.
With the No. 2 pick in the 2022 WNBA Draft, the Indiana Fever select Baylor's NaLyssa Smith.
