Kanye West dropped the headlining slot coachella 2022

Just a week before his heading set at Coachella, Kanye West has reportedly withdrawn from the event altogether. The news was first reported by TMZ and later confirmed by Billboard. West and Coachella have yet to make a public announcement.

Earlier this year, West threatened to pull out of the festival after mistaking fellow headliner Billie Eilish for "disrupting" Travis Scott. "I wait for people to recover before proceeding," Eilish said when footage of his show stopping when a distressed fan in his crowd needed an inhaler was revealed, and West felt it hurt. The Astroworld Festival crowd's reaction was to churn.

He wrote on a since-deleted Instagram post, which was shared on February 10, "Come on Billy we love you," in all-caps, he continued. “Please apologize to Trav and the families of those who lost their lives. No one intended this to happen. Trav had no idea what was happening when he was on stage and was deeply hurt by what happened, and yes Trav would be with me at Coachella but now I need to apologize to Billy before I can perform Is. ,

Eilish replied to West in the comments of his post writing, "Never said literally anything about Travis. Just helping out a fan."

As can be anticipated, Scott will not be performing with West at Coachella as well.

A recent Change.org petition called for West to be removed from the lineup because of his recent public statements towards his ex-wife Kim Kardashian and her boyfriend, comedian Pete Davidson. The petition, with nearly 50,000 signatures, read: "We've seen Kanye harassing, manipulating and hurting Kim, Pete and others for over a year. It seems no one wants to stand in front of him, And the one who does, sets it on fire. Lately, he's been threatening to cause actual physical harm to others. It's ridiculous that he's allowed to do that freely. Coachella (along with other brand names) Those who are still working with him) should be ashamed of themselves and should not be given a platform anymore.”

Coachella is scheduled to take place over the weekend of April 15-17 and April 22-24.
