Warriors back on track, pull away vs Clippers

MANILA, Philippines - The Golden State Warriors are back on their way to victory after a five-game loss with a win against the Los Angeles Clippers, 109-97, at the Chase Center in San Francisco on Tuesday (Wednesday, Manila time).

Finding their momentum, the Warriors used 14-0 runs in the second period to lead 17 points, 43-26, with 4:11 remaining in the first half.

Then it was cruise control as they extended their advantage to 29 points in the second half.

While the Clippers tried to fight back with renewed vigor on offense in the fourth quarter, the deficit proved insurmountable as the Warriors held them for their 43rd win of the year.

Six different Warriors ended in two-point scoring, led by Jonathan Kuminga, who finished as the top scorer for the team with 21 points.

Meanwhile, Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole scored 20-20 points.

Stephen Curry added 15 points while Andrew Wiggins finished with a 14-point double-double and 11 rebounds.

Nicolas Batum lost to the Clippers with 17 points.

Elsewhere, Giannis Antetokounmpo dropped 39 points to beat the Milwaukee Bucks to a 142-115 capture of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The defending champion leaned on Antetokounmpo, who also pulled off seven rebounds and made seven assists, as the Bucks secured their 41st win of the season.

In the second game, the Memphis Grizzlies defeated the New Orleans Pelicans 132–111 to consolidate their hold on second place in the West standings.

Ja Morant finished with 24 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.

CJ McCullum had 32 points and 11 assists for the Pelicans.
