She will reportedly perform from a special location in Compton, Calif.

Update: 11:34AM ET (March 23, 2022) -- Beyoncé has been confirmed as a cast member for the 2022 Oscars. According to a press release, Billie Eilish and the Finesse, Reba McEntire and Sebastian Journey will perform this year's nominated songs. Van Morrison was invited to perform his nominated song, but would not attend the Oscars due to his touring schedule.

Beyoncé and the organizers of the 2022 Oscars are in talks to feature the Grammy Award-winning artist for a performance during this year's annual event. Variety exclusively revealed possible plans for the "Diva" singer to perform the recorded song "Be Alive" for the heavily nominated film King Richard.

Reportedly, the performance will take place at the Compton, California tennis court where Venus and Serena Williams' father made them practice and learn the game of tennis. The rumored display also adds to the potential appearance of Will Smith, but will reportedly be dropped if too much is revealed ahead of time.

Smith is up for Best Actor for his portrayal of the patriarch of the Williams family in the acclaimed film. This win could be a historic first Oscar for the veteran actor. Thus far, he has earned career first awards for the film, including the 2022 Critics' Choice Award for Best Film Actor, 2022 BAFTA for Best Actor in a Leading Role, 2022 for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture SAG Award, and 2022 Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Drama.

King Richard could also give Queen Bey his first Oscar. The 40-year-old singer was nominated for the first time in the Best Original Song category at the ceremony. Billie Eilish has also been nominated in this category for "No Time to Die" from the James Bond film of the same name, Sebastian Journey for "Dos Orugitas" from Encanto, Van Morrison for "Down to Joy" from Belfast, and Reba McEntire from "Somehow You Do" from Four Good Days.

The 2022 Academy Awards will air this Sunday (March 27). Listen to "Be Live" by Beyoncé below.
