Lausanne, Switzerland: The International Testing Agency on Thursday suspended three Russian wrestlers over a 10-year-old doping case.
Evidence recently surfaced in a Moscow laboratory database that was withheld and tampered with in the possession of Russian state officials from 2015 to 2019.
Manipulating the database led to a two-year slate of sanctions against the Russian Games, with athletes and teams being stripped of their national identities at last year's Tokyo Olympics and last month's Beijing Games. He competed as a ROC for the Russian Olympic Committee.
Investigators at the World Anti-Doping Agency have provided evidence from databases of suspected doping to sports governing bodies and the ITA to prosecute cases.
The ITA said data relating to wrestlers Daria Lexina, Alexey Shchekov and Elena Vostrikova "indicated the presence of banned substances in samples provided by athletes in 2012."
None of the three went on to compete in the Olympics or win a medal at the World Championships.
