Ravens ‘looking hard at offensive linemen’ in free agency

The Baltimore Ravens don't have a ton of cap space available this off-season, but that won't stop them from doing their due diligence in free agency.

It's been clear for some time that the Ravens will be focusing their efforts on the two primary status groups in free agency — and in fact entirely off-season. Those two status groups are the offensive line and the secondary.

It seems their focus is on the former when it comes to free agency.

ESPN's Dan Graziano reported Sunday that the Ravens were "working hard on aggressive linemen" in free agency and hinted that the team will come with at least one new starter this week.

Expect Ravens in All Offensive Line Markets

The first, and perhaps most important, domino that has to fall is related to the position of the center. Bradley Bozeman is set to become a free agent, and while the Ravens undoubtedly want to keep him, he may have locked himself out of a comeback.

If the Ravens are unable to re-sign Bozeman, which is likely to happen at this stage, the center position becomes a key requirement for the team. They were reportedly interested in bringing back Ryan Jensen, but the veteran center re-signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

If the Ravens want to replace Bozeman in free agency, they'll have to turn to more affordable options such as veteran Ben Jones or young Ethan Posick.

Elsewhere, the Ravens could be looking to strengthen their internal offensive line even further by finding a new starting left guard. Pro bowler Laken Tomlinson is considered the most high-profile left guard on the market, but he should command a hefty price tag.

Hopefully the Ravens will also be in an aggressive tackle market. The exact position of the tackle is a mystery right now and players like Morgan Moses and Brandon Schell could be on his radar.

They are looking to add further left tackle depth given Ronnie Stanley's precarious position/injury concerns. Someone like Cornelius Lucas can be an excellent swing tackle option if the Ravens are willing to go that route.
