After scoring seven goals in midweek, Bayern Munich would have to prove that Salzburg's performance was more than a flash in the pan. Hoffenheim are good opponents for that purpose - they are well drilled and really good this season. The match against them will act as a good barometer for the position of the team right now.
Ironically, Hoffenheim never outnumbered the Bundesliga miners before Julian Nagelsmann saved him from exile all those years earlier. Since then, they have been a constant thorn in Bayern's side, a loss or two every season too much. Nagelsman will now have to face the monster he created, but at least he is now on top of an even bigger monster. Who would bet against them - with players like Robert Lewandowski, Thomas Muller, Joshua Kimmich and others?
