Explained: Why Pedro Neto isn't in Wolves squad vs Everton

Wolverhampton Wanderers have recently welcomed Pedro Neto back from a long-term knee injury

Pedro Neto has been left out of Wolverhampton Wanderers squad for today's Premier League match against Everton with a leg injury.

Neto recently recovered from a long-term knee problem to feature in Wolves' last five matches. Bruno Lage handed Neto his first start in 11 months against Crystal Palace last weekend.

The Portuguese winger, who turns 22 and signed a new five-year contract this week, was in contention to make his debut against Everton at Goodison Park today, but has not been included in the squad.

The injury sustained by Neto is not considered anything serious, only an impact injury to the top of his leg.

Neto traveled to Goodison with his teammates and could be seen walking the pitch with compatriot Ruben Neves before the team news was announced at 1 p.m.

Legge will be hoping Neto shakes up his innings in time to play against Leeds United on Friday night.

Wolves made three changes to their starting XI in a 4-0 win over Watford on Thursday, with Max Kilman, Markle and Leander Dendonker returning to the squad in place of Willie Bolly, Ryan At-Nuri and Daniel Podens.
