Pak vs Aus: Before the Rawalpindi Test against Australia, Pakistan got a setback, this bowler was out
New Delhi, Online Desk. Ahead of the first Test against Australia to be played in Rawalpindi from Friday, Pakistan's team has suffered a setback. Fast bowler Harris Rauf has been ruled out of the first Test after being found corona positive. Bowler Naseem Shah has been included as his replacement for Pakistan.
Rauf got a chance to debut in Test cricket for Pakistan, but due to Corona, he will have to wait for it for the time being. Rauf got this opportunity due to the absence of bowlers Hasan Ali and Faheem Ashraf. Both these bowlers were injured during the PCL last week. Although Pakistan had called in Iftikhar Ahmed and Mohammad Wasim Jr in their place, they may be forced to give Naseem a chance. Rauf had cleared the corona test on his arrival in Islamabad on Monday afternoon, but was found to be corona positive when a rapid antigen test was conducted on Tuesday.
Taking precautions after Rauf was positive, the entire team got the Kovid test done once again but the good thing is that all came negative. Rauf has currently been sent to isolation for 5 days. Once he comes negative, hopefully he will be ready to play in the second Test. Rauf was associated with the Pakistan team of late due to the PCL final. Along with Rauf, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan also joined the team late. All these players were part of the final match of PCL. Australia team is touring Pakistan since 1998. The first match of the three-Test series starts in Rawalpindi on Friday. Considering the future of cricket in Pakistan, this tour of Australia is considered very important.
