To date, Syracuse Basketball is sitting 14-12 overall and 7th overall in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). Even though this season has its ups and downs, Orange has five games left against some tough competition this season, the most notable matchups being against Notre Dame on February 23 and the number nine team Duke Blue Devils in the country on 26th February. are against. ,
So, what is Syracuse planning to do to make it not only the ACC tournament but the NCAA tournament as a whole?
Win the remaining games on schedule and may have to win the ACC tournament outright in order to get into the NCAA Tournament. Now, that's easy to do, as Orange has lost one of the key pieces to the team, with Jesse Edwards being carried for the season with a broken wrist, and the team looking sluggish on both ends.
Orange need to finish the remaining five games on schedule with tough offense and defense at both ends of the court and need to push their big-name players.
The Key to Making the NCAA Tournament for Orange
1. Pick Upsets Against the Blue Devils
Syracuse will need to upset Duke at home on the 26th, that way they can upset on a ranked team under their belt. The NCAA selection committee will look into that and consider Orange as a potential bubble team.
2. Proceed to the ACC Tournament
Syracuse will require its team to click on all ends to make the run possible. To make it possible for an NCAA Tournament spot, they would need to make at least a semi-final or a final.
3. Close the schedule with the win
With four of the five teams sitting atop the ACC, with games against Georgia Tech, Notre Dame, Duke, North Carolina and Miami, Syracuse would end the season winning most of these games. If the Orange pick wins against Notre Dame, Duke, Miami and North Carolina, they will most likely have a shot at the NCAA Tournament.
