An Indianapolis police officer was in "serious but stable" and another man was seriously injured after Sunday night after shootout in Fountain Square.
The officer was recognized only as "one year officer who was in the field training, was taken to Kosai Hospital. Police said that the person who removed officers was in a serious situation until Monday 1. According to the police, he was later upgraded to a serious situation.
Some details of the shootings were available soon after Monday morning, but the IPD Lieutenant Shane Foll said to reporters that immediately after 10 PM, officials on the report of a vehicle accident, after answering the 1600 blocks of Lexington Avenue.
Since the police was in the path of accident, Dispatchers told the officials that a man was exposing himself in a red jacket, F. said. He also told that a man was drunk in a red car, "strange acting" and was moving towards the south on the state Avenue.
Officials found a man wearing a red jacket in a red boick in 1600 blocks of Woodlon Avenue, two blocks in the south of Lexington Avenue. When the police contacted, the man ran "within seconds".
"The officials told the man: 'Stop. Police," Foll said during a media briefing in the scene. "In the field of 1600 Woodlon Avenue, at least one official and suspect was exchanged between the gunfire."
A Swat team found the man immediately after 11 PM. In Dansson Street's 900 blocks, less than half-mile was shot out. The man was shot at least once, F. said to reporters, and the police got a handgun next to him.
When asked about the initial report of an accident, Foll said that the police believes that Lexington was an accident, adding: "It's still something that we are trying to verify. This is not it. Where the officials are suspicious. " Later the department said that the witnesses told the officials that a Red Bauk left the scene of the accident.

Law enforcement officials said that the serious event of IMPD will organize a criminal investigation of the team shooting. The department will also investigate the division of internal affairs.
The officer who removed his gun, has been placed on the administrative leave, as the police involved is standard in shooting. It is not clear that the officer is the same officer who was shot.

Police cars started to leave the area about 1 am. But the officials said that the spies will remain in the scene in the early morning hours to collect forensic evidence.
