Best bets for Sunday, Feb. 20: NBA All-Star Game total is quite the number

If it’s Team Giannis, chances are Giannis will score plenty of points

Each day, one of our experts at Bet.NOLA.com will offer the best bet (or two or three) of what mobile sportsbooks have to offer in Louisiana. This can be a traditional spread bet, a player prop or one of the various odds that the books have to offer.

Here are the best bets for Sunday, February 20:

Top sports

The Bet: NBA All-Star Game Under 323.5

Line: -110 ($30 to win $33)

Book: Caesars Sportsbook

Timings/TV: 7 pm. (TNT)

Our take: Well, folks, funny, and whatever the line it is. Throughout the week, that number has grown steadily, which tells us that every Aunt Mabel and Drunk Joe who doesn't even watch the game thinks they're going to make some easy money by betting overs.

And while it seems like this spectacle of a basketball game might be an automatic over, it's simply too many points. Three of the last four matches - since they went to Team LeBron vs Team Star of the Moment, have not even reached 13 points of this number, and we think it will be even less.

In fact, only three All-Star Games in history have exceeded 323 points – 2016, 2017 and 2019.

Oh, and if you wait until close to game time, who knows? It may go up a few more points.

NBA All-Star Player PROP

The Bet: Giannis over 25.5 points

Line: -115 ($11.50 to win $10)

Book: Caesars Sportsbook

Our take: They're not calling it Team Giannis. We know he's going to score, and we know no one is going to defend against him.

In the last three All-Star games, he has scored a total of 98 points, so Giannis is the one to get him. In other words, if there's anything left to play in this game, it's his singular point.
