Ex-Docker Harley Balic dies aged 25

Former Fremantle midfielder Harley Bialik has died at the age of 25, becoming the third former Docker to have died in the past four years.

Bialik, whose death is not being treated as suspicious, was labeled a plagiarism of the 2015 national draft, selected by Fremantle with pick number 38.

He scored three goals in four matches in 2017 before being given a personal leave.

A homesick Bialik was traded to Melbourne at the end of that season, but failed to play a game for the Monsters and announced his retirement in August 2018.

Bialik was open about the mental health issues he faced in the past, and said that he has lost his passion for the sport.

"It was an easy decision in the end, as I've thought about it for a while now," he said while announcing his retirement in 2018.

"It's something I don't regret and I appreciate Melbourne very much for letting me come to the club for a second chance.

"I've always loved football but my heart isn't in it and everything grinds to a halt and I think it's the right thing to do."

Fremantle has mourned the passing of two other former players in recent years.

Former Dockers and Demons midfielder Colin Sylvia died in a car accident in 2018, while former Fremantle forward Shane Yaran also died in 2018.

Former AFL star Harley Bennell posted a photo of herself with Bialik and Yaran and captioned: "Relax my 2 brothers."
