Team India won the two-match series 1-0 by defeating New Zealand by 372 runs on the fourth day of the second and last Test match played in Mumbai on Monday. Chasing a tough target of 540 runs, New Zealand were all out for 167 runs in their second innings. India had scored 325 runs in their first innings, in response to which New Zealand were all out for 62 runs. India declared their second innings at 276 for seven. India have got 12 points as soon as they win this match and now they have 42 points. Sri Lanka is currently at the top of the points table in the ICC World Test Championship, as its percentage of points is higher than that of India. However, Sri Lanka is far below India in terms of total points, where it has 24 points.
The ranking of the team will be decided on the basis of percentage of points. There will be 12 points for a win, six points for a tie match, four points for a draw match and no points for a loss. There will be 100 percent off points for winning, 50 percent off points for a tie, 33.33 percent off points for a draw, and 0 percent off points for losing.
