Thomas Rhett faces 'intense questions' from the daughter of adoption

Country singer Thomas Rhett has told how he and his wife Lauren Akins have faced "really intense questions" from their six-year-old daughter about her adoption, but they plan to wait until Willa is 10

Thomas Rhett and his wife, Lauren Akins, plan to wait until they are 10 years old before announcing their adoption to their six-year-old daughter.

The 32-year-old country singer admitted that adoption is "the most beautiful thing in the world" and explained how Villa has "really deep questions" about being from Uganda and wanting to see her friends from the country.

He added: "I don't know if you felt it at all, but it's kind of like, 'Okay, at what age? What's the right age?'

"Maybe we have to wait until we're 10, you know what I mean? But he has questions all the time.

"She talks to Lauren, she's like, 'When can we see our friends in Uganda?

"And then [her four-year-old sister] Ada James would be like, 'When can I see my friends in Uganda?'

"And Will Gray would be like, 'Well, they're not your friends, they're my friends.' ,

Thomas — who also has children, Ada, four, Lennon, two, and Lauren, with four-month-old Lily — admitted that his significant other would love to add their baby.

Speaking on the 'Making Space' podcast, she said: "Lauren's whole dream, she wanted to have five kids.

"From the day we got married, she's like, 'I want five.' And I'm going to sit there going, 'It's okay, you know, this would be great.' So I said to Lauren, 'Let's have five, but let's take a deep breath of four.' ,

The "Die a Happy Man" hitmaker confirmed the birth of his and Lauren's daughter, Lily, last November.

He wrote on Instagram: "Lily Carolina Akins born Nov 15. 7.5 pounds of pure joy @laur_akins You are my hero. It's a miracle to see a baby born. 4 under 6 here we go! (sic)"

Lauren admitted that she and Thomas "couldn't be over the moon" about their arrival.

She posted: "Our little Miss Lily Carolina Akins was born on November 15th and our family couldn't be more over the moon about the joy of our youngest.

"If he dresses up Lily with beauty and magnificence"

How much more will he wear you?

If he keeps an eye on every sparrow

How much more does he love you?"
