Draymond and other reinforcements soon to join Warriors

Drummond Greene expects to return to the Warriors next Monday, and he may not be the only one to rejoin the team. s

Andre Iguodala and James Wiseman could also return next week - certainly before the end of Homestand which starts on Saturday and runs through March 20.

Wiseman is in the final stages of recovery from knee surgery last April and a clean-up procedure in December. He will join the G League Santa Cruz Warriors for games at Stockton on Thursday and the Chase Center on Sunday, meaning the NBA won't be far behind.

"He's been grappling with the team for the past few weeks, and the next logical step is live-action in the G League," coach Steve Kerr said Tuesday ahead of tipoff against the Clippers at Chase Center. "I don't know of any other option than to include him in my game," he said. We think it makes a lot of sense for him to do some action and play a lot, get a lot of rhythm and conditioning before we play. ,

While Wiseman is the only member of the team to feature in a game so far this season, Iguodala has played fewer games than anyone named Klay Thompson, who missed the first 12 weeks.

The 38-year-old veteran, who has missed 39 matches and last played on February 7, is days away from returning as his back stiffness has faded.

"Draymond and Andre are both doing well, and James is doing well," Kerr said. "It's our three most athletic players. In Drummond's case, our most important defensive player. In Andre's case, one of our best players overall. Both Draymond and Andre will be able to handle some point forward duties that Steph ( Curry) is used to handling him, and he can play the ball, and we can get back to our normal style of play. I'm looking forward to it.

"But we can't sit here thinking that this will solve everything. We have a lot of things to clean up, and that's what we're working on right now."

In addition to the above players, Gary Peyton II and Otto Porter Jr. round out the lineup on Tuesday. Kerr indicated that neither is expected to be out for an extended period.

Considering that there are no new injuries in the coming days, there is a very good chance that next week the Warriors will be fully fit for the first time this season.

Which will give them the final month of the regular season to come together and start peaking before the playoffs begin on April 16.
