Abhimanyu Dasani: Don't feel the need to look, you won't see me doing PR like people do

Actor Abhimanyu Dassani talks about why he isn't afraid to be out of sight for a while- he wants his work to do the talking.

Abhimanyu Dassani has recently started his acting career in Hindi films. Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota (2018) made his debut, and he was most recently seen in Meenakshi Sundareswarar (2021), for which he also received an award. He is quite satisfied with the pace of his career, and does not bother with the pace of other actors' careers.

"I don't feel the need to be seen. That's why you don't even see me doing the PR that people do all week long, here and there. As an actor, as an artist, I want to do good work and do my job." I want to be happy in the process of doing. I can be seen when my stuff comes out, and when there's something to show, instead of being available all the time,” confesses the 32-year-old.

Bhagyashree's son, the actor is very clear about being responsible for his career, and hence does not take advice from anyone. They believe that what works once is not always right. “If someone makes you sit on the seat, they will throw you out of it too. If I listened to you today and the film went well, I would thank you. If I hear you again and it flops, I will come up to you and say 'teri because of picture curry', that's not right. You have to take responsibility for your actions,” says Dasani.

And he'd rather wait for a good project to come his way than fill up his calendar or take nothing to see.

“I want to do work that I am proud of and that I am happy to do. We spend 50 percent of our day at work, and if you don't get along with those people, don't enjoy a daily work life balance, what's the point? Getting phone calls for three days and still being in trouble all year long... It's not about the one day you get a great collection, but the one enjoying what you do every day. I focus on my process and not the result,” he concludes.
