Lin-Manuel Miranda, Daveed Diggs and Leslie Odom Jr reunite on Sunday (28.02.22) to open the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards.
The "Hamilton" stars came together after the cold opener of the ceremony's famous "I'm an Actor" segment to kick off a star-studded event from Santa Monica's Barker Hangar.
The trio sat down together and began to joke about who should speak first, as they complemented each other on their successes before being interrupted by the sound of an orchestra.
Lin-Manuel asked: "Are they playing with us?"
The actors then headed to the stage, where they observed that this year's theme was "Together again", returning to a personal event in honor of the ceremony after the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Leslie said: "Well, finally we return to a world where all we have to do to hang out like this is to dress up, show up, get swabbed, clean up Clean the screen, do rapid testing and clear the PCR within 48 hours. Who's ready to party now?"
Dave said: "Seriously, we are following the most up-to-date safety guidelines tonight. And if anyone breaks the rules, our COVID compliance officers are off guard tonight at the 'squid game'."
After their light-hearted exchange, Leslie conveys a message of support to the people of Ukraine, which has been invaded by Russia.
He added: "We hold a place in our hearts for Ukraine and are sending our thoughts, prayers and hopes for impending peace."
The popular 'I'm An Actor' segment begins with Nicolas Braun recalling how he got his SAG card when he was just 11 years old and working on his first film, in which the director asked him to give up a free soda. Urged because his face was getting rounder as the shoot was going on.
He added: "I was hitting it hard."
The camera then looked at Javier Bardem, who paid tribute to his grandparents, parents and siblings, who are all in the same industry.
He added: "I am very proud to say that I am an actor."
Elle Fanning then shared her story of how her first screen kiss was also her first real-life kiss, when she was just 13 years old, and the first take was used in the film.
