Kelly Clarkson filed a request to legally change her last name to Brian in the midst of her bitter divorce from ex-husband Brandon Blackstock.
The "American Idol" alum said she "desires" to make her middle name her new last name, according to court documents filed Monday and obtained by Us Weekly.
"My new name completely reflects who I am," she explained.
The petition is to be heard in the court on March 28.
The "Since You've Been Gone" singer, 39, hasn't addressed her name change request on social media or her daytime talk show, and her reps didn't immediately return Page Six's request for comment.
Clarkson's divorce from Blackstock, 45, is ongoing, although the former couple was declared legally single in August 2021.
The Grammy winner filed for divorce from the former talent manager in June 2020 after nearly seven years of marriage. She has since been given primary physical custody of their two children: River, 7, and Remington, 5.
Most recently, Clarkson agreed to give Blackstock more than 5 percent of his Montana farm. His share is equal to $908,800 of the estimated value of $17,750,000.
The host of "The Kelly Clarkson Show" initially fought heavily last October, but Blackstock argued it was "marital property" and not part of their prenuptial agreement.
In December, Clarkson lost his request that Blackstock, who still lives on the property, be evicted from the farm.
"The Voice" Koch's divorce has been both highly emotional and costly.
Last July, she was ordered to pay approximately $200,000 per month in spousal and child support to Blackstock. She will also bill for her legal fees, which amount to about $1.25 million.
Clarkson recently joked that after dealing with the turbulent divorce proceedings, she would be "single forever."
