Maharashtra board HSC & SSC exams 2022 dates announced, exams to be held offline

Maharashtra board HSC & SSC exams 2022: Maharashtra board HSC and SSC exam dates 2022: The announcement was made by state school education minister Varsha Gaikwad on Thursday evening.

Maharashtra Board HSC & SSC Exam 2022: Maharashtra Board Exam for Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC-Class 12) and Secondary School Certificate (SSC-Class 10) will be conducted in offline format between March and April 2022. The announcement was made by the state. School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad on Thursday evening.

According to a statement released by the department, the HSC oral exam will be held from February 14 to March 3, while the written papers will be held from March 4 to April 7, 2022. Similarly, SSC oral exam will be conducted from February 24 to March. 14, and the written examination will be held from March 15 to April 18, 2022.

Varsha Gaikwad said, “There are many queries regarding the exam dates and how the board exams will be conducted for the current academic year, so we are clarifying that the exam will be conducted in offline mode only.” A senior official of the school education department said that unlike every year, the board exam schedule has been delayed by two weeks this time to give schools more time to complete the syllabus.

Keeping in mind the lakhs of students appearing for the board examinations in the state, the education department has also decided to increase the number of examination centres.

“As per the rules, the number of students allowed per class during our exams to ensure social distancing during exams will be halved in 2022. If normally 25 students are allowed to sit in a class If granted, this time there will be only 12-13 students. Instead, the same should be allowed in the same class," the official said.

In 2021, class 10 and 12 board exams in several school education boards had to be canceled due to rising Covid-19 cases. The Class 10 batch results were instead based on the combined performance of students in Classes 9 and 10, while Class 12 students were assessed on the basis of their performance in Classes 10, 11 and 12.

In July this year, Gaikwad had announced a 25% reduction in HSC and SSC syllabus for the current academic year to ease the academic burden for the students. Despite this, many schools feel that they will not have enough time to complete the syllabus on time for the exams.

“We are not allowed to conduct online classes for more than 3-3.5 hours in a day and also the government is expecting us to complete the huge syllabus which is becoming impossible. The part will have to be completed in February so that we give students time to prepare for the exams. The government should have postponed the exams further," said the principal of a suburban school on condition of anonymity.
